1. Developer identification
Calibre Tuner is developed by BYTES HOUSE LTDA. Questions about this policy may be sent to contato@byteshouse.com.
2. Microphone use
The app requests the RECORD_AUDIO permission for a single purpose: detecting the pitch of the note played on the instrument, which is what a tuner does.
Captured audio is:
- read from the microphone straight into application memory;
- analysed in real time to estimate the fundamental frequency;
- discarded immediately after analysis.
Audio is never recorded to a file, stored on the device, shared with third parties or uploaded to any server. Capture happens only while the app is open and in use.
3. No network access
Calibre Tuner does not declare the android.permission.INTERNET permission. This is enforced by the Android operating system: without it, the app is technically incapable of opening any network connection. This is not merely a promise in a policy document, it is verifiable in the app manifest.
4. Data collected
None. Specifically, the app does not collect:
- name, e-mail, phone number or any personal identifier;
- location;
- contacts, photos, files or other device data;
- advertising or device identifiers;
- usage analytics, telemetry, statistics or crash reports.
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs. There are no user accounts and no sign-up.
5. Files created by the app
For audible tuning feedback the app synthesises reference tones, which are mathematically generated sine waves, and caches them as temporary files in the app's own private cache directory. These files contain no microphone audio. They are accessible only to the app and are removed when the cache is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
6. Permissions
- RECORD_AUDIO: capture the instrument sound to detect the note, in real time.
- VIBRATE: provide haptic feedback when the note reaches correct pitch.
7. Children
The app collects no data from any user, of any age, and therefore collects no data from children.
8. User rights
Since no personal data is collected or stored, there is no data to access, correct, export or delete.
The microphone permission may be revoked at any time through Android settings, under Apps, Calibre Tuner, Permissions. Once revoked, the app stops detecting notes, and no other functionality is affected.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this same page with a revised update date. The Portuguese version is available at /calibre-tuner/privacidade.
